Protege to market Magic, Connors, Nash, and Parcells
June 30,2007 - Scottsdale based Protege Sports Inc. has mastered the art of capturing their athletes knowledge and experience on video tape. For some time now, Protege has been filming instructional video clips which feature the likes of “Hall of Famers” and current professionals. Up to this point, Protege has filmed athletes from its own roster of professionals. Now they are reaching out to other well known athletes who would like to take advantage of the Protege platform.

Recently, the Protege Sports staff has signed deals for the rights to edit and distribute video featuring stars such as Magic Johnson, Jimmy Connors, Steve Nash, and Bill Parcells. Footage from these athletes as well as others will soon be available on the Protege web site. Instead of buying a whole DVD from these athletes, students can now purchase specific sections or drills for a much smaller price. “We have developed an itunes-like model. However, we are much more generous to the artist” said, President Ron Shaffer. “Many student athletes want to purchase just one or two football drills for practice in their backyard. They can purchase these drills for $1.00 - $3.00 from one of the winningest coaches in the NFL. We feel that the instruction offered by Steve Nash and Magic Johnson is invaluable. And I can’t imagine a better tennis instructor than Jimmy Connors”.

Magic Johnson has been chosen as one of the 50 best basketball players in the history of the NBA. In his video clips, he will give instruction on many of the techniques, drills, and practice advice that made him a great player. Steve Nash has been voted the most valuable player in the NBA twice in his career and will offer advise on shooting, ball handling, and defensive techniques. Bill Parcells has won two Super Bowls and has coached several NFL teams including the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. His clips will include basic drills for offense, defense, and special teams. Additionally, Protege will offer fitness drills from Parcells. As any tennis enthusiast knows, Jimmy Connors is one of the best players of all time. Through Protege’s interactive platform, young players can purchase instruction from Connors on a piece meal basis.

Protege Sports Inc. was founded in 2006 and has developed an extensive instructional library that features such athletes as Tim Salmon, Kevin Young, Mike Matheny, Mike Fetters, and Orlando Hudson in Baseball. In addition to Nash and Magic, Protégé offers instruction fro Bob Lanier, Eddie Johnson, George Gervin, Jennifer Azzi, and Katie Smith.
